Senior Bioinformatician – In-silico protein design
T-Cypher Bio is an early-stage, innovative biotechnology company aiming to unlock an expansive target space to build a pipeline of novel, T-cell receptor (TCR)-based therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Bioinformatician with a strong background in protein engineering to advance our biologics platform as part of the Computational Biology team.
What you will do
This role will involve driving bioinformatics and ML-based efforts to engineer bispecific immune cell engagers towards our clinical programmes. The ideal candidate would have a strong background and interest in applying computational methods towards protein engineering, ideally including developability assessment. The role will involve exploratory bioinformatics, deploying ML-based approaches, and developing pipelines to expand on and enhance our analysis & data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Drive innovation in the application of computational techniques to protein engineering of clinical molecules
Guide data generation to support development of new computational techniques and ML models
Train and deploy ML approaches for improving protein engineering processes
Develop and deploy tools and metrics for assessment of molecule developability
Develop and integrate bioinformatics pipelines with our analysis & data infrastructure
Regularly communicate findings and developments with the Research team and management
Participate in group and project meetings, offering insights and expertise on technical elements to advance research projects
Maintain and implement good code, version control, and organisation of data
To be successful you will need
Appropriate qualifications / experience in bioinformatics, one of:
Demonstrated experience and strong interest in utilising computational techniques within protein engineering
Experience with at least applying ML techniques to protein engineering, ideally developing and training ML models in the area
Strong Python skills and knowledge of general software development techniques and standards
Ideally, some experience of developability assessment in drug development
Passionate about bioinformatics, coding, and the biological applications of computational techniques
Desire to develop clinical TCR-based therapeutic molecules
Ability to adapt to multiple roles in an evolving company
Enjoy working towards challenging goals in a fast-moving environment
Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong drive to deliver on company milestones and goals
