Bill Detwiler has had a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and project management. Bill has held various roles in different companies. Starting in 1997, they worked as a Project Engineer at URS Corporation, where they were involved in projects such as the Big "I" Interchange in Albuquerque. From 1999 to 2002, they worked as a Project Engineer at HDR, focusing on projects like the Memorial Causeway in Clearwater, Florida. In 2002, they joined MEC Engineering as a Project Manager, overseeing projects like the McArdle Viaduct and South Hills Village Parking Garage. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Structural Engineer at Buchart Horn, Inc. and then moved on to Element Engineering, LLC, where they served as the Owner and Design/Build QC Manager from 2004 to 2007. Bill later joined the Delaware Department of Transporation as a Consultant Manager, overseeing bridge rehabilitation projects. From 2008 to 2013, they served as a Project Manager at RKK Engineers. Most recently, Bill worked at T.Y. Lin International, where they held the positions of Senior Project Manager, Associate Vice President/Director of Operations, and Principal Project Manager.

Bill Detwiler has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida, which they obtained from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture at Penn State University from 1982 to 1988. Bill also completed an additional Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of South Florida from 1995 to 1997.
