Timo Metsälä

Development Director, Taaleri Real Estate at Taaleri

Timo Metsälä has a strong background in the real estate and architectural industry. Timo is currently working as the Development Director at Taaleri, a position they started in October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Property Development Director at Antilooppi from September 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Antilooppi, Timo had a long tenure at WSP in Finland, where they held multiple roles. Timo started as an Architect in March 2010 and gradually worked their way up to become a Project Director. During their time at WSP, Timo gained extensive experience in project management, principal and architectural design, and design team management for both renovation and new building projects.

Before their time at WSP, Timo worked as a Project Architect at Pöyry Architects Oy, where they collaborated with multinational teams on commercial real estate development concepts. Timo also worked as a Master's Thesis worker and Research Assistant at Helsinki University of Technology, Department of Architecture, and as an Assistant Designer at Arkkitehtuuritoimisto Stefan Ahlman Oy.

Timo Metsälä completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1997 to 1999, they attended the United World College of the Atlantic, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate degree. In 2001, they began their studies at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Architecture with a focus on Urban Planning & Design and Building Design. Timo'sstudies at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan lasted until 2008. In 2005, Timo also attended Deakin University, where they earned a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree with a specialization in Architecture & Urban Design.

In addition to their formal education, Timo has acquired various certifications related to building design and project management. In 2012, they obtained a Building Design certification for demanding new projects from the FISE Qualification of Professionals in Building, HVAC and Real Estate Sector in Finland. In 2016, they earned two more certifications from the same institution: one as a Principal Designer for demanding new projects and another for Building Design in the context of very demanding renovation projects.
