Shang Heng W.

Shang Heng W. has extensive work experience in data and AI roles. They are currently serving as the Data and AI Lead at tab32 since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked for UC Davis Health for nearly a decade. During their time at UC Davis Health, their roles included Data System Engineer and Software Engineer. As a Data System Engineer, they implemented system integration between EMR and research data environment for high-profiled projects, such as the NIH All of Us Research Program and UC-wide health data warehouse. As a Software Engineer, they developed and maintained web applications, provided technology recommendations for enterprise applications, and documented application-related details on Wiki (Confluence). They also worked as a Software Engineer for Kaiser Permanente from October 2009 to January 2011, where they implemented a prenatal screening application and optimized UIs for better user experience. Their earlier work experience includes roles as a Neuroinformatics Researcher - Programmer at the University of California and a Bioinformatics Programmer. At the University of California, they developed an information retrieval system for building a neuroanatomical knowledge base and contributed to published papers and talks on the subject.

Shang Heng W. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis between 1999 and 2003. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics at the same university.
