Darius Mensah, Ed.D., currently serves as an Assistant Principal and previously held the position of Special Education Teacher at Tacoma Public Schools since January 2018. Prior experience includes Program Manager for the 100K Opportunities Initiative at Educurious, where the focus was on connecting opportunity youth with educational employment. Darius served as the founding Principal at a New York City school from September 2012 to June 2016, implementing a mastery-based learning framework while promoting culturally responsive pedagogy. Experience also includes positions in the NYC Department of Education, the Oakland Unified School District, and various roles in emergency medical services and human resources, culminating in a diverse educational background with a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Washington Tacoma and multiple degrees in education, psychology, and human resource management.
