Florian Hertnagel

Florian Hertnagel started their work experience in 2009 as a Software Developer at jambit GmbH, where they served as a tech lead and developer on projects for the automotive and telecommunications industry. Florian gained experience in project management and client collaboration and was a member of a lead group of software architects.

In 2014, Florian joined tado° as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they contributed to the release of new hardware and service products, scaled the cloud infrastructure, and evolved the Groovy/Grails codebase. Florian also introduced InfluxDB as the company's first time series database and implemented consistent end-to-end testing.

From September 2018 to December 2019, Florian served as the Team Lead Cloud Services at tado°. In this role, they introduced agile methodologies and retrospectives and shaped the lean development process for delivering software. Florian was highly focused on simplifying processes.

In January 2020, Florian became the Head of Cloud Services at tado°, and in January 2022, they transitioned to the role of Head of Engineering. As the Head of Engineering, their responsibilities include designing and leading the engineering part of tado°'s product development organization and building a machine that builds the machine. The end dates for these roles are not specified.

Florian Hertnagel obtained a Diplom degree in Computer Science from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between the years 2003 and 2009.
