Andrew Sloan has over 25 years of work experience in various roles related to health, safety, and wellbeing. Andrew currently serves as the Deputy Director of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing at TAFE SA. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager of Safety and Wellbeing at Renewal SA from 2021 to 2023. Andrew has also held positions such as AIHS Membership Officer at the Australian Institute of Health & Safety, Manager of WHS&IM at the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment, and Manager of Safety at the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. Before their roles in the public sector, Andrew worked as a WHS Manager and a Work Health and Safety Manager at SA Power Networks for almost a decade. Additionally, they have served as a Guest Lecturer at Flinders University and Federation University Australia. Andrew started their career as a Corporate Services Manager at Cutler Brands Pty Ltd.

Andrew Sloan has a diverse education history. Andrew completed a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety at Federation University Australia in 2016, followed by a short course in Principles of Lean Thinking at the University of South Australia. In 2015, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from Federation University Australia. Additionally, they acquired a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from SG Learning and Development in 2012 and Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator training from Corporate Health Group in 2010. Andrew also pursued Management Studies at Adelaide TAFE, Occupational Health and Safety at Panorama TAFE, and an Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety at SAI Global. Currently, they are working towards a Diploma in Human Resources at SG Learning, expected to be completed in 2023.

In terms of certifications, Andrew earned a Mini MBA from the Australian Institute of Management in 2022, a Certified Generalist OHS Professional designation from the Australian Institute of Health & Safety in 2020, and a Certified Generalist OHS Practitioner designation from the Safety Institute of Australia in 2016.
