Jp van der Merwe

JP van der Merwe has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. JP most recently held the position of Head of Ecommerce at Tafelberg Furnishers since October 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Category Manager - Consumer Electronics at Loot.co.za from July 2018 to September 2023. JP also served as a Product Sales Specialist at Rectron South Africa from January 2017 to July 2018. JP has extensive experience in the online retail sector, having worked as an Online Category Manager at Takealot.com from March 2011 to December 2016 and at kalahari.com from May 2007 to February 2011. Before transitioning to the e-commerce industry, they gained experience in store management as an Assistant Store Manager at The Rythmic Beat Group from March 2006 to April 2007 and as an Operations Manager at Starknit from August 2005 to March 2006. JP also possesses a background in the healthcare sector, having served as an Executive Housekeeper at Medi-Clinic from April 1999 to July 2005, and as a Dental Technician at Al Hada Hospital from July 1998 to April 1999.

JP van der Merwe completed a National Higher Diploma in Dental Technology from Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1993 to 1996. In 2002, they obtained a Project Management Certificate from the University of Cape Town. Finally, from 2004 to 2009, JP pursued a BCom degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Operations from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.
