Lina Abdelaal has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Lina began their career as a Teaching Assistant at AUC School of Business, where they lectured and assisted students in Public Finance. Lina then worked as a Public Relations Head at the Anti-Cancer Team and as a Coordination Associate and Peer Advising Leader at The American University in Cairo (AUC).
Lina later became a Business Peer Leader at AUC, helping newly declared students understand their chosen concentrations and mentoring them on the required courses. Lina also served as a Consultant for Junior Enterprise Consulting at JE AUC, where they provided solutions to startup problems and developed financial, marketing, and managerial strategies for clients.
In their role as an External Affairs Senator and Economics Senator at AUC, Lina represented students' concerns and contributed to curriculum development. Lina also organized an economics forum for students to engage with their professors.
Lina gained professional experience in the business world as an Intern at El Zayat Tourism and Hospitality Consultancy, where they supported major events and analyzed their performance against client KPIs. Lina then worked as a Business Development Manager at Saladero, where they formulated business and marketing strategies and managed client feedback.
Furthering their career, Lina held positions at Swvl, including Business Intelligence Analyst and Growth Hacker, where they analyzed historical data, created actionable dashboards, and developed retention models using R.
Lina then joined Noon Academy as a Data Analyst, responsible for tracking and analyzing key performance indicators, creating real-time dashboards, and assisting in predicting and planning future projects. Lina also served as an Assistant Growth Manager, working with marketing teams to identify user personas and conducting A/B tests to improve performance.
Lina's most recent role was as a Business Analyst at Amazon. There, they developed a customer service dashboard, trained employees on data extraction tools, and analyzed customer issues to provide actionable resolutions.
Currently, Lina works as a Performance Lead at Tagaddod, where they utilize their skills and experiences to drive performance strategies and improvements.
Lina Abdelaal obtained a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Art degree in Business, Finance, and Economics from The American University in Cairo, completing their education from 2010 to 2015. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in various fields. These certifications include the McKinsey Forward Program from McKinsey & Company, completed in May 2023. In August 2021, Lina completed the Google Data Analytics certification from Coursera. Lina also acquired numerous certifications from Coursera and Google, such as "Share Data Through the Art of Visualization," "Analyze Data to Answer Questions," "Prepare Data for Exploration," "Process Data from Dirty to Clean," "Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions," and "Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere," all obtained in 2021. Furthermore, they obtained the Tableau Author certification from Tableau Software in April 2020. Before that, in December 2019, Lina completed the "Growth Hacking Foundations" certification from LinkedIn, and in November 2019, they obtained the "Learning Data Science: Understanding the Basics" certification, also from LinkedIn. In 2019, Lina Abdelaal completed multiple certifications, including "Learning Python," "Storytelling with Data," "Learning Data Analytics," and "Programming Foundations: Fundamentals" from LinkedIn. Additionally, they achieved the ICAgile Certified Professional certification from ICAgile in March 2019. In 2018, Lina completed the "Data Analytics for Business Professionals" and "Customer Retention" certifications from Lynda.com in November and October, respectively.
