Amitava Das

Amitava Das has been working in the technology industry since 1991. Amitava began their career as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. In 1996, they joined Motorola/Freescale as a Device/Process Integration Engineer. In 2000, they were promoted to Director of Global Product and Test Engineering, and also took on the role of Design Lead (RFIC/Module), developing 2.5G/3G RF IC Circuits and Modules. In 2009, they joined MaxLinear as a Director, managing the Manufacturing Operations Department and Quality Engineering Department. In 2011, they co-founded Tagore Technology, where they served as Co-Founder & COO and Co-Founder & CEO. In this role, they developed GaN on Si products, ranging from RF switches and amplifiers to 650V GaN power FETs and integrated half bridges.

Amitava Das earned their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University between 1986 and 1990. Prior to that, they earned their MS in Electrical Engg from The University of Akron between 1984 and 1986. Their educational journey began at Jadavpur University from 1980 to 1984.
