Martijn den Brok

Martijn den Brok has extensive experience in the field of biotechnology and oncology research. Martijn is currently working as the Head of Biology at Tagworks Pharmaceuticals since February 2023. In this role, they are responsible for designing and developing new immunological and biological assets to improve the efficacy of cancer therapies using a cleavable linker system.

Prior to this, Martijn worked at Radboudumc from April 2019 to November 2021 as a Project Manager and Senior Postdoc. Their focus was on utilizing oncological biobanking and molecular or biological screening to link individual tumors with their optimal treatment. Martijn played a key role in project design, development, and funding, with a particular emphasis on checkpoint-blockade inhibitors.

From August 2019 to March 2021, Martijn served as the Research Manager at ERC immunotherapy. During their tenure, they guided Phase II and Right to Try activities for the development of an autologous ATMP product for glioblastoma treatment in the United States.

Before that, Martijn worked as a Study Director at Triskelion B.V. from December 2017 to November 2018. Martijn was involved in various studies as a part of the Contract Research Organization.

Martijn's research career began at the Department of Tumor Immunology at RadboudUMC, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher from August 2007 to May 2017. During this time, they contributed to multiple projects, including the study of lipid bodies in cross-presentation by dendritic cells and the exploration of in situ tumor destruction techniques in anti-tumor immunity.

Additionally, Martijn briefly worked as a Regulatory Affairs Officer at Synthon from April 2006 to August 2007. Martijn completed their Ph.D. in December 2000 at the Department of Tumor Immunology, NCMLS, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, where they focused on tumor immunology.
