Casey Swegman has a diverse work experience history. Casey began their career in 2008 as a Program Coordinator at the Global Conscience Initiative. In 2009, they joined the World Justice Project as a Temporary Development Associate before transitioning to a role as a Refugee Caseworker at Church World Service. In 2011, they joined the International Rescue Committee as a Special Needs Care Coordinator, a position they held until 2013. Since 2013, they have been working at the Tahirih Justice Center, starting as a Forced Marriage Initiative Project Associate before being promoted to Project Manager. Casey then served as the Interim Director of Public Policy before being officially appointed as the Director of Public Policy in January 2022.
Casey Swegman completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Film at Drexel University from 2003 to 2007. Later, from 2007 to 2009, Casey pursued a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Resolution at Georgetown University.

Our holistic, interdisciplinary model for service combines free legal and social services with bridge-building policy advocacy, and research-based training and education. We amplify the voices of survivors in communities, courts, and Congress to create a world where everyone can live in safety and with dignity.
