Bryan Stuurman

CTO, Roboticist and Co-Founder at Taiga Robotics Corp.

Bryan Stuurman has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Bryan is currently working as the CTO, Roboticist, and Co-Founder at Taiga Robotics Corp. Prior to this, they worked at Pipetel Technologies from 2012 to 2021, where they initially served as a Field Electrical Engineer, responsible for developing and operating robots inside live gas pipelines. Later, they transitioned to the role of Engineering support, where they conducted root cause analysis of robot failures, communicated bugs to the engineering teams, and implemented engineering changes. Additionally, they prepared training programs and provided on-call services to resolve urgent problems.

Before joining Pipetel Technologies, Bryan Stuurman worked as a Graduate student/Research assistant at Ryerson University from 2007 to 2011. In this role, they contributed to research, design, and assembly of small satellite equipment and test beds. Bryan gained expertise in embedded C programming, circuit design, and various communication protocols.

Furthermore, Bryan Stuurman worked as an Engineering intern at TS tech, newmarket in 2006. In this role, they supported production engineering staff in maintaining product flow and solved electrical issues during mass production of automotive subassemblies. Bryan also played a significant role in implementing a paperless drawing exchange initiative.

Bryan Stuurman completed their education at Ryerson University. From 2002 to 2007, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a specialization in Electrical. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Applied Sciences with a specialization in Electrical Engineering from 2007 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the Ham Radio Basic+Advanced certification from Industry Canada in January 2008.
