Vanessa Fontanes

Vanessa Fontanes currently serves as the Head of Quality Control at Takeda since June 2023, overseeing all Quality Control Laboratories at the L. A facility. Prior to this role, Vanessa built an extensive career at Grifols from July 2010 to June 2023, culminating in the position of Director of Quality Control and Technical Development, managing a large team and ensuring compliance across 24/7 laboratory operations. Additional experience at Grifols included roles as Associate Director of Quality Control, Manager of Quality Control Chemistry, Manager of Quality Control Methods Development and Validation, and Principal Scientist/Sr. Principal Scientist in Methods Development & Validation. Vanessa holds a PhD in Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Project Management certification from UCLA Extension.
