Christian Bettels

Christian Bettels has over a decade of work experience in the insurance and risk management industry. Christian is currently serving as the Head Change Management & Validation in Group Risk Management at Talanx. Prior to that, they held the position of Head Quality Assurance & Review in Group Risk Management at Talanx as well.

Before joining Talanx, Christian worked at Generali Asia as the Regional Head of Risk Analytics for Asia from 2018 to 2020. Christian also gained experience in Enterprise Risk Management at Swiss Re from 2016 to 2018.

Christian began their career at Generali Deutschland AG in 2009, where they held various roles, including Team Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Actuary. Christian worked at Generali Deutschland AG until 2014.

Christian also had a stint at AXA as Regional Actuarial Solutions from 2015 to 2016.

Throughout their career, Christian has developed expertise in risk management, actuarial analysis, and enterprise risk management. Their experience spans across international markets in Asia and Europe.

Christian Bettels completed their education in Mathematics at Leibniz Universität Hannover from 2003 to 2009, earning a diploma. In 2006, they also attended the University of Technology Sydney for a brief period to study Mathematics and Statistics.

Furthermore, Christian has obtained several certifications. In 2022, they received certifications in "Leading In Every Direction," "Balancing Multiple Roles as a Leader," and "Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers" from LinkedIn. Additionally, Christian acquired the certifications of "Certified Insurance Risk Manager Solvency II" in 2013 from GDV (German Insurance Association) and "Qualified Actuary" in 2012 from Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung e.V.
