Sarah Jones

Sarah Jones has over 20 years of experience in the accounting and finance field. Sarah began their career in 1991 as a Manager in the Audit and Business Advisory Practice at Arthur Andersen LLP, where they assisted clients with implementing new accounting standards, designing charts of accounts, drafting pro forma financial statements, and benchmarking financial results against industry standards. In 1998, they took on the role of Controller at the Food Marketing Institute, where they oversaw daily cash flows and monitored investment performance of a $50 million portfolio. In 2005, they joined Siebert Kullman as an Audit Manager, and in 2006 they moved to the successor firm, KatzAbosch, in the same role. From 2009 to 2011, Sarah worked as the Cognos Manager at Shore Bancshares, Inc., where they utilized Cognos to create a library of customized and automated reports from the company's new ERP system. Sarah then moved on to Wildlife International as Controller, where they oversaw Finance Department and Warehouse operations, as well as $30 million in annual invoicing and collections. In 2015, Sarah became the VP Finance and Administration at The Highland Group, and in 2017 they took on the role of Controller at AXIS GeoSpatial LLC, where they were an Executive Team member responsible for Accounting and Finance, Office Administration, and Human Resources. In 2020, Sarah began their current role as Chief Financial Officer at Talbot County Public Schools.

Sarah Jones attended Georgetown University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting, as well as a minor in French. Sarah then obtained a Diplome d'Etudes en Langue Francaise from L'Institut de Touraine. In 1993, they became a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and Virginia.
