Dale Lebsack

Chief Fossil Officer at Talen Energy Corporation

Dale Lebsack serves as Senior Vice President of Fossil Operations, leading Talen Energy’s nearly 11 Gigawatt fossil fleet. Prior to his current role, he led the company’s Montana, ERCOT & Northeast (MENE) Gas divisions. He also is President of the Talen Montana division.

Mr. Lebsack joined Talen in 2015 as part of its acquisition of RJS Power by Riverstone Holdings, LLC. Since joining the Company, he has taken on roles of increasing importance, including business unit leader for Talen’s Northeast Gas portfolio in Dec. 2016; Talen’s Montana portfolio in May 2017, Talen’s ERCOT portfolio in Nov. 2017 and his current role in March 2022.

Prior to joining Talen, Mr. Lebsack managed RJS Power’s Sapphire generation portfolio centered in New Jersey where he held various leadership roles, including asset management, project development, plant operations, and environmental, health and safety. In addition to these roles, Mr. Lebsack led the technical planning and permitting related to Riverstone’s $1.2 billion repowering of three power plants in Texas; managed the conversion to the biomass of a coal-fired plant in North Carolina; and led the technical due diligence related to Riverstone’s acquisitions of the Sapphire portfolio in New Jersey, and the Raven portfolio in Maryland. Apart from his roles with RJS Power and Riverstone, Mr. Lebsack’s experience includes plant-level positions with Duke Energy North America and Entergy.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Lebsack earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
