The Company operates through two segments: East and West. The East segment includes the generating, marketing and trading activities in PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. (PJM), New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) and ISO New England Inc. (ISO-NE). The West segment includes the generating, marketing and trading activities in Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), including the coal-fired facility, Colstrip, in Montana. The Company produces and sells electricity, capacity and ancillary services from its fleet of power plants totaling approximately 17,400 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity. Its portfolio of generation assets is principally located in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest regions of the United States.
