Renee Garin

Renee Garin has a diverse and extensive work experience. Renee started their career in 2004 as a Cooperative Associate at PPL Services Corporation, where they supported Treasury/Finance areas in achieving compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Renee then worked as a Staff Accountant, Senior Finance Analyst, and Supervisor-Finance (Cash Controls) at the same company, where they gained expertise in cash management, financial analysis, and supervision of cash operations.

In 2010, Renee joined the University of Phoenix as an Associate Faculty, teaching courses on Foundations of Personal Finance and Essentials of Personal Finance. Renee worked in this role until 2016.

Since 2014, Renee has been working at Talen Energy, where they have held various positions. As a Manager - Investments, Pensions, & Finance, they were part of a two-person team responsible for investment and liability management activities of defined benefit pension plans and multi-unit Nuclear Decommissioning Trust. In their subsequent role as Director - HRIS, Pensions, & Data Analytics, they led a team responsible for managing the company's total rewards compensation and workers' compensation programs, as well as supporting HRIS process efficiencies and data analytics. Renee also managed financial risks associated with the company's retirement benefit plans.

Renee Garin, CTP, FPAC has a diverse educational background. Renee holds a Master of Science in Quantitative Management (MSQM) with a specialization in Business Analytics from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, which they obtained from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Analytical Finance at Lehigh University from 2005 to 2008. Renee also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics (Finance) from Moravian University from 2001 to 2004. In addition, Renee has obtained a Certificate in Women in Leadership from Cornell University and a Certificate in Accounting from Lehigh Carbon Community College. Renee completed their high school education at Whitehall High School. Renee has also obtained several certifications, including passing Level I of the CFA Program from the CFA Institute in 2017, as well as the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Certified Corporate FP&A Professional certifications from the Association for Financial Professionals in 2007 and 2014, respectively.
