Michelle Wempe

Michelle Wempe is an award-winning designer and educator with extensive experience in design and academia. As Design Principal at zumaooh since April 1998, Michelle has shaped the firm’s character through a commitment to quality and practical solutions. In addition to this role, Michelle has served as a Professor of Practice at Kansas State University since August 2018, focusing on concept-based design solutions addressing real-world issues. Michelle is also a Principal at Talentstar, Inc., where expertise in professional practice is shared within the design community. Previous teaching experience includes serving as Adjunct Faculty at California College of the Arts, where a course on “The History of Women in Design” was developed. Michelle's career in design began at Gensler and further developed at The Woods Group, contributing to a strong foundation in interior architecture from Kansas State University.
