Chaaran Arunachalam has worked in various roles since 2018. In 2021, they are currently a Junior AI Scientist and AI Engineer, Intern at TalkMeUp. In 2018, they were an Intern at Ford India Private Limited (Regional office), where they collaborated with engineers to solve the problem of increased door closing efforts in EcoSport model. Chaaran identified the root cause of the problem through data analysis and developed a mechanism to solve the problem at a low cost. Chaaran was also a Research Intern at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they assisted a Ph.D. candidate in the design and development of Magneto-rheological dampers. In 2018, they were also a Visiting Scholar at Swinburne University of Technology, where they were selected by the government of Tamilnadu, India, as part of the Foreign Technical Training Program to visit Melbourne and analyze the different aspects of the city that makes it smart. Chaaran gathered information by inspecting green buildings in Melbourne and suggested an improved rain water harvesting model to solve water scarcity problem in Chennai.

Chaaran Arunachalam graduated from the College of Engineering, Guindy in 2019 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. Chaaran then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, which they completed in 2021. Chaaran also obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Research from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2021.
