Erica Patton Simpson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of mental health and social services. Erica began their career as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Agape in 2004, where they provided assessment services and interventions for individuals experiencing substance dependence. Erica then worked as a Case Manager at a Homeless Shelter from 2008 to 2012, before joining the State of Kentucky as an Investigations Specialist. In this role, they investigated reports of child abuse and neglect, facilitated reunification and treatment plans, and participated in court proceedings. From 2012 to 2015, Erica served as the Executive Director of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), managing paid and voluntary staff and coordinating volunteer service programs for abused and neglected children. In 2017, they joined the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Board as a member of the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Team, providing support to peers who encounter critical incidents. Erica also worked as a Behavioral Therapist at Give an Hour in 2017. Erica 'smost recent roles include positions at Talkspace, where they started as an LCSW in 2017 and progressed to becoming a Clinical Team Lead, Senior Team Lead, Director of Provider Operations, and currently serves as the Head of Clinical & Quality Operations.

Erica Patton Simpson holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Critical Incident Stress Management from the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Board, Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the State of Kentucky, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker from the State of Florida, Psychological First Aid 1 and 2 from the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Board, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute.
