John Downey has a long and successful career in marketing, design, and advertising. John began their career in 1998 as an Assistant Advertising Manager at JayC Food Stores, where they created design and graphics for weekly circular ads, ROP ads, and direct mail pieces. John also successfully lobbied for the creation of a corporate website and lead the team in re-branding efforts of Ruler Food Stores. In 2007, John took a role as a Graphics Specialist at Jackson County Public Library, where they effectively translated subject matter and vague concepts into concrete design for newsletters, promotional materials, and resources. John also created design theme and graphics for several annual programs, and executed completion of the first and second generation website redesigns. In 2014, John started their own business, Downey Design, where they successfully built, re-built, and managed more than 50 websites from conception to live site. John worked closely with clients to create a vision, conceive designs, and launch a new website, as well as created digital content that ensured consistency with the brand’s standards. Most recently, John has been the Marketing Director at Tallman Equipment since 2018.
John Downey attended The University of Toledo from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies.
