John Williams

John Williams is a seasoned professional in baseball research and development with extensive experience in quantitative analysis and player personnel. Currently serving as a Senior Analyst with the Tampa Bay Rays since January 2020, Williams previously held multiple roles with the Kansas City Royals from November 2010 to January 2020, culminating in the position of Special Projects Coordinator. Williams' expertise includes overseeing the Quantitative Analysis department and supporting all Baseball Operations areas, with a strong focus on professional scouting and player development. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Atmospheric Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University. Additionally, Williams has research experience assisting in statistics and coding at both Yale University and Boston University.
