Derek Carman

Derek Carman currently serves as Vice President at Young Gentlemen Academy, where responsibilities include engaging community leaders for networking and development, leading educational programs for young men, and promoting a safe environment for youth. Concurrently, Derek holds the position of Power Block Engineer at Tampa Electric, focusing on developing equipment monitoring programs to prevent failures and managing service agreements for gas turbines. Previous roles include Operations Engineer II and Mechanical Engineer at Tampa Electric, Operations Manager at Long Ridge Energy Terminal, and Sales Engineer at Tencarva Machinery. Derek began a career in sales as a Door-to-Door Sales Representative at Vivint and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
