Kevin Young

Kevin Young has a diverse work experience in the energy sector. Kevin started their career at Tampa Electric in 2002 as an Engineering Cooperative Education Student and later worked as an Environmental Engineer and Environmental Coordinator. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of an Engineer II.

In 2013, Kevin joined TECO Energy as a Sr. Policy Analyst and remained in that role until 2016. Kevin then joined TECO Peoples Gas as a Manager of Business Development for a short period of time.

Returning to Tampa Electric in 2016, Kevin took on the role of Manager of Business Strategy and Energy Policy until 2022. Currently, they serve as the Director of Customer Programs at Tampa Electric. Additionally, they also contributed as a Planning Board Member at Better Block Tampa from 2014 to 2016.

Kevin Young earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 1999-2006. Kevin continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 1999 to 2006. Afterward, Kevin pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Business Analytics at the University of Tampa - John H. Sykes College of Business from 2012 to 2016. Kevin also holds a Professional Engineer certification obtained from FBPE (Florida Board of Professional Engineers) in January 2011.
