Katja Kannonlahti

Katja Kannonlahti is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications for the City of Tampere since April 2021. Prior to this role, Kannonlahti held the position of Director of Communications at MIELI Mental Health Finland from April 2020 to March 2021, and worked as Leading Expert in Communications at Tampere University from January 2019 to March 2020, focusing on strategic communication initiatives. Kannonlahti played a significant role in the Tampere3 project as Project Director of Communications and Marketing from March 2012 to December 2018, which resulted in the merger of the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology into the new Tampere University. Kannonlahti's career in journalism includes various roles at MTV3, including Evening News Anchor and Morning Show Host, from February 1998 to February 2012. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Vaasa and studies in German Language and Literature at Bielefeld University, among others.
