Jerlesha Calahan is an experienced professional with a diverse background in support services and management. Currently serving as WIOA Follow-up Specialist and Prevention Specialist for Tangipahoa Parish Government since April 2017, Jerlesha has developed expertise in workforce development and prevention programs. Prior roles include Followup Supervisor at Ekhaya Youth Project, Inc., Assistant Manager at Murphy USA, and Behavior Specialist at North Lake Supports and Services. Jerlesha began a career in management as an Assistant Manager at Kangaroo Express. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Human Services and an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Colorado Technical University.
Tangipahoa Parish Government
Tangipahoa Parish began in 1869, when it was carved from Livingston Parish, St. Helena Parish, St. Tammany Parish, and Washington Parish. The name comes from the Tangipahoa River and the historic Tangipahoa Native American people. Tangipahoa is the youngest parish in the Florida Parishes region of the state. It was flooded in 1932 and in the early 1980s. In 2016, it was one of many parishes declared a Federal disaster area due to historic flooding in both March and August.
