Mike Diaz

Director of Technology at Tangipahoa Parish School System

Mike Diaz is the current Director of Technology at Tangipahoa Parish School System. Prior to their current position, Mike was an Engineering Manager at Unity from January 2021 to July 2022. Mike was also a Lead Systems Engineer at AVT Simulation from January 2019 to January 2021, where they were responsible for writing technical solutions and proposals for multimillion-dollar projects. Additionally, Mike chaired the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) and led Internal Research & Development (IRAD) efforts, including virtual & augmented reality initiatives using MagicLeap, Hololens 2, and HP Reverb. From January 2016 to December 2019, Mike was a Senior Software Engineer at AVT Simulation where they served as a Project Engineer/Chief Engineer/Systems Engineering Lead on the Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT) Post Deployment, Software Support (PDSS) program. In this role, they were responsible for managing cross-functional teams to deliver new software and hardware releases to both CONUS and OCONUS Army bases.

Mike Diaz has a Bachelor Degree of Science in Computer Science from Full Sail University.

Mike Diaz works with Lisa Fussell - Assistant Superintendent Of Schools, Gavin Vitter - Director of Human Resources, and Ronald Genco - Assistant Superintendent Of Schools. Mike Diaz reports to Melissa Martin Stilley, Superintendent.
