Ahkam El Zawahry

Ahkam El-Zawahry is currently an independent non-executive board member in EFG Hermes Corporate Solutions. She held finance, treasury and banking, marketing, senior business development and commercial leadership roles as well as an acting board director with leading multinationals such as Shell, InterGen and Xerox. Her expertise spans full project lifecycles working collaboratively with local and global multi-cultural and cross-functional teams. She served the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade in her role as Assistant to the Minister and focal point for multilateral programs working closely with major donors where she co-developed strategic Egyptian Mega projects and brought them to fruition, grew industrial SMEs, successfully negotiated and restructured two reform programs with the European Commission and the World Bank Group. She has a track record for growing shareholder value and growing businesses organically by bringing in new innovative lines of business and launching new products. Her 20-year gas and power experience makes her enthusiastic about how access to green finance products could contribute to Egypt’s sustainable energy transition in the long term.

Ahkam holds a B.A. in economics and an MBA from the American University in Cairo.
