Derek Sassoon

Derek Sassoon has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Derek currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Tanner, a role they have been in since September 2020. Prior to this, Derek served as the Head of Global Markets & Treasury at Itaú Colombia from August 2016 to January 2020. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing global markets, banking, trading, and correspondent banking businesses. Derek was also the Chairman of the Board at Itaú Panama and a member of Itaú Colombia's executive committee and board. Before joining Itaú Colombia, Derek worked at Itaú Chile as the Treasurer from May 2007 to July 2016. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in guiding the bank to achieve significant growth and increase its market share. Derek's expertise in treasury management and risk management was widely recognized by market participants and regulators. Prior to their roles at Itaú, Derek worked at Bank of America as the Head of Corporate Finance & Capital Markets, where they successfully established a new division focused on investment banking products. Derek also worked at BankBoston in the Corporate Banking department and started their career as a Graduate Trainee at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting.
