Adam Haymond has a diverse work experience spanning from 2001 to present. Adam started their career as an Electrician's Mate Petty Officer 2nd Class in the United States Coast Guard, where they managed repair and maintenance work for Search & Rescue Stations.
After leaving the Coast Guard, Adam transitioned into the technology industry. Adam worked as a Web Developer for TCS and SoftwareMedia.com in 2010, and then joined Pinnacle Quality Insight in 2011 as a Web Developer/Assistant IT Manager. There, they developed intranet web portal modules using PHP and MySQL.
In 2011, Adam moved on to Middlebury Interactive Languages as a Software Engineer. Adam created event-driven learning tools and backend services for educational progression. Adam also developed interactive calendaring systems for instructors to build lesson plans.
Adam then joined MasteryConnect (Acquired by Instructure) in 2014. Adam initially served as a Software Engineer, working on various projects and implementing new features. Adam was later promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer and then to ETL Engineer, where they created SQL dumps and managed data extrapolation for BI needs. From 2016 to 2019, Adam worked as a DevOps Engineer, transforming infrastructure into infrastructure as code and continuously improving automation and deployment processes.
In 2019, Adam joined Instructure as a DevOps Engineer. Adam built robust and scalable systems architecture for the MasteryConnect platform, overhauled infrastructure in AWS to decrease spending, and prepared for future scalability.
Most recently, Adam is the DevOps Team Lead at TapResearch, starting in 2022. Adam heads a team of DevOps Engineers, leading the complete replacement of existing cloud infrastructure on AWS. Adam focuses on decreasing OpEx, adding horizontal scaling through Docker containers, and creating a bulletproof architecture to handle business growth efficiently.
Throughout their career, Adam has demonstrated strong technical skills and expertise in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, and backend development.
Adam Haymond attended Utah Valley University from 2008 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Digital Media and Internet Technologies.
