Joseph Lawrance has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Joseph started their career in 2011 as an Officer Cadet in the British Army, where they underwent rigorous training in command, management, and leadership. After completing their training, they served as a Platoon Commander in the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, overseeing the welfare and professional development of approximately 35 personnel.

Lawrance then transitioned to the role of Short Term Training Team (STTT) Instructor, leading a team in Belize to plan and deliver a six-week training course. Joseph also served as a Platoon Commander Instructor, responsible for training and mentoring new recruits.

In 2017, Lawrance joined One Acre Fund, where they worked as a Program Design Associate, leading the expansion of operations into a new area of Kenya. Joseph then became a Global Field Operations Senior Associate, providing guidance on standardizing processes across different countries of operation.

Lawrance later joined GiveDirectly as a Field Director, playing a key role in implementing the organization's response to Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Joseph also served as the Country Director in Kenya, overseeing cash transfer programs and ensuring high operational integrity.

Currently, Lawrance is working at Taptap Send, first as a Fraud and Compliance Operations Manager, then as the Operations Director, responsible for fraud, compliance, and funding operations. Joseph then became the Group Head of Financial Crime, leading compliance and counter fraud programs. Joseph is currently serving as the Director and Head of Risk and also holds the position of Compliance Officer and MLRO, where they manage a growing team across three continents.
