Liz Turpin, PhD, MBA has a diverse work experience that spans various industries.

Liz began their career as a Laboratory Technician at USDA-ARS, where they were responsible for establishing and maintaining a repository for influenza samples from around the world. During their time there, they developed a vial tracking system to adhere to Select Agent requirements and created and conducted training for the Select Agent program.

After their tenure at USDA-ARS, Liz joined the University of Wisconsin as a Postdoctoral Fellow. During this time, they gained valuable experience managing people and projects under the guidance of a mentor. Liz coordinated two research projects that evaluated viral-induced inflammatory disease, resulting in two peer-reviewed publications and a research grant from the National Institutes of Health. Liz also directly managed three undergraduate students, whose research led to the awarding of two Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellowships, and assisted in training new graduate students.

Following their postdoctoral fellowship, Liz joined The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Here, they continued to build their research skills and contribute to various scientific projects.

In 2007, Liz transitioned to Pfizer as a Senior Scientist in Viral Vaccines. In this role, they managed multiple R&D projects, leading a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Liz successfully completed a project to develop a modified live vaccine under budget and ahead of schedule, despite limited resources.

In 2010, Liz joined Zoetis as a Scientist in Diagnostic Services, Global Marketing. Liz'srole involved creating a global diagnostic services group to support the sales of diagnostic kits and biological products. Liz conducted market research and developed a launch strategy, resulting in increased sales and an acquisition recommendation. Liz was later promoted to Manager, Clinical and Applied Research and Diagnostics, Global Marketing, where they managed a team of scientists and oversaw staff hiring, training, performance management, and stakeholder relations.

In 2017, Liz took on a new challenge as a Scientific Consultant/Grant Writer at Eva Garland Consulting, LLC. Liz provided scientific expertise and grant writing services to clients.

More recently, Liz became a Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant at Whole Dog Institute, where they coach and trains owners to have well-behaved and calm family pets.

Currently, Liz holds the position of Vice President at TARGAN Inc.

Liz Turpin, PhD, MBA has a comprehensive education history. Liz obtained their PhD in Pathology from The University of Georgia. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Infectious Diseases, also at The University of Georgia. Liz furthered their education at Radford University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology.
