Kenneth Cates

Kenneth Cates has extensive experience in youth counseling and recruitment, currently serving as a Recruiter at Tarheel Challenge Academy since August 2017. Previously, Kenneth held the position of Assistant Team Leader (ATL Cadre to the Cadets) at the same organization from June 2015 to May 2023, focusing on leadership by identifying strengths in individuals. Prior to this, Kenneth worked as a Youth Service Counselor at DJJDP of NC from September 1996 to July 2015, and served in the United States Air Force as SRA from September 1987 to July 1993. Kenneth graduated from James Kenan High School in 1987 with a diploma in Health Occupations Teacher Education.
