Jonathan Van Der Merwe has extensive work experience in the culinary industry. Jonathan started their career in 2013 as a Chef at Cube tasting kitchen and then worked as a Chef De Partie at Merchant hotel from 2014 to 2015. Jonathan then joined gemelli cucina bar as a Sous Chef from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as a Chef at Etihad Airways. In 2018, they briefly worked as a Chef at Nahm restaurant. In 2021, they became a Sous Chef at Flamingo room by tashas. Currently, they hold the position of Regional head Chef GCC at tashas Cafe, starting in 2022.
Jonathan Van Der Merwe earned an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from HTA School of culinary Art in 2012-2013. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Hoerskool die fakkel from 2006 to 2011, where they received their High School Diploma with a focus on Consumer Studies.
