Hamish Sutton

Hamish Sutton has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in the food industry. Hamish currently serves as the Head of Strategy and Supply Chain at Tassal Group, where they are responsible for group strategy development and execution, overseeing the integrated value chain from farm to fork. Prior to their current role, they were the Head of Supply Chain, Product Innovation, and Integrated Business Performance at Tassal Group. In this role, they had overall responsibility for delivering profitable and sustainable growth across a $700 million turnover business, leading teams in manufacturing, global supply chain, product innovation, procurement, digital, technology, and commercial finance.

Before joining Tassal Group, Hamish worked at McCain Foods, where they served in various roles. Hamish took a sabbatical from 2020 to 2021 and later worked as the Plant Manager, Sara Lee, Lisarow. In this role, they successfully transformed the business unit, improving cost, safety, and quality results, and securing the future of regional employees. Hamish also implemented lean methodologies, operational excellence, and capital investment in automation and infrastructure. Prior to their role as Plant Manager, Hamish was the Commercial Manager for Australia and New Zealand Integrated Supply Chain at McCain Foods, where they controlled a $500 million spend and implemented finance business partnering.

Hamish also has experience working at Sara Lee Australia, where they held the position of Operations Commercial Manager. In this role, they had profit and loss responsibilities for private label and retail store business units, drove profit improvement across various areas, and was involved in the successful divestment and McCain acquisition integration. Earlier in their career, Hamish worked at Nestlé, where they held roles such as Project Accountant and Factory Analyst/Controller, contributing to network transformation, cost savings, and successful divestment. Hamish also started their career as a Cadet Accountant at KPMG Australia.

Hamish Sutton completed their Master of Business Administration - Executive degree from AGSM @ UNSW Business School in 2020. Hamish also pursued the CPA Australia Program for Accountancy and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Newcastle. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Commerce - BCom from the University of Newcastle. Hamish Sutton also holds a certification in Principles of HACCP from SAI Global.
