Vinay began their career as an Engineer at Reliance Industries Ltd, where they were responsible for grid and captive power connectivity, as well as the implementation of Aromatics Power Systems. Vinay then transitioned into the financial sector, first joining First Global as an Equity Research Analyst before moving on to the Export-Import Bank of India as a Credit Analyst, where they focused on corporate lending and credit risk analysis for project export contracts in the construction sector. Vinay then worked as a Credit Analyst at Kotak Mahindra Bank, specializing in credit risk analysis for corporates and distressed debt. Vinay further honed their skills in equity research and analysis by working as an Equity Research Analyst at ICICI Lombard, where they conducted research and stock picking based on value investing principles, and achieved impressive returns for the associated portfolio. Vinay later held the position of Head of Investments - Equities at ICICI Lombard, where they managed the equity allocation of a scheme within the Investment Portfolio and delivered exceptional returns, outperforming the benchmark index. Vinay Rao, CFA is a highly educated professional with a diverse educational background. Vinay obtained their CFA charterholder designation from the CFA Institute in 2007. Prior to that, they completed a PGDM (MBA) with a focus on Finance from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon from 1999 to 2001. Their undergraduate education was in Electrical Engineering, earning a BE degree from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology from 1992 to 1996. Vinay also completed a Pre university course at Vijaya College from 1990 to 1992 and their Senior Secondary education at Vijaya High School from 1987 to 1990.
