Malay Kumar

Malay Kumar currently serves as the Executive Vice President & Chief of Operation for the Energy & Industrial sector at Tata Projects, beginning in November 2024. Prior to this, Malay held the position of President & Group Head of Projects at Deepak Group Co from April 2022 to November 2024, successfully overseeing a $250 million chemical sector project portfolio. Subsequently, from February 2014 to April 2022, Malay was General Manager & Head of Portfolio Management at Larsen & Toubro, managing EPC for refinery and petrochemical projects worth over $2 billion. Malay also served as Head of Construction for a paraxylene complex at Larsen & Toubro and was a Project Manager for a coal gasification plant at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. Additionally, Malay worked at Shell as Project Delivery Manager, leading significant initiatives in diesel hydro-treating and lubricant blending. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, and an Executive MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
