Jean-François Millau has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2001, they completed an internship at PX'Therapeutics, where they conducted company competition analysis and designed the company logo and website. From 2003 to 2007, they worked as a PhD student at CEA, developing biochips to measure DNA repair activities of human cells. As a result of their work, they contributed to a patent family that is now commercialized by LXRepair. In 2004, they co-founded Cella-Biosearch, a company based on the biochip they developed during their PhD. The company won the 8th ANVAR National Contest award and was incubated at Grenoble Alpes Incubation. From 2008 to 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Université de Sherbrooke, where they conducted research on cancer cell genome architecture and developed artificial histone tails using synthetic biology. In 2019, they co-founded and became the CEO of TATUM bioscience.
Jean-François Millau completed their Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cell Biology at Université Grenoble Alpes from 1998 to 2001. Jean-François then pursued a Master of Science in Molecular & Cell Biology at the same institution from 2001 to 2003. During the same period, they also attended Grenoble Ecole de Management and obtained a Magister's degree in Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship. Jean-François further continued their education at Université Grenoble Alpes and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology from 2003 to 2006.
