Jason Ockey has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to the present. Jason began their career in 2008 as a Volunteer Representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where they supervised 74 Danish/Icelandic-speaking volunteers and gave 45 formal trainings. In 2011, they became an English Language Teacher for HELP International, where they taught English language lessons to 40+ children identified as high-risk human trafficking targets. That same year, they also became a Research Project Manager for Brigham Young University's Department of Economics, where they coordinated field experiments, data collection, and statistical analysis for a USDA-funded behavioral economics study. In 2012, they were an Advisory Intern for PwC, where they analyzed the impact of FATCA on $3 trillion of daily transactions. In 2013, they became an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group, consulting companies in a variety of industries on how to solve their most challenging problems. Two years later, they were promoted to Consultant and managed larger, more complex components of BCG's projects. In 2016, they joined Kickstart Seed Fund as a Senior Associate, where they owned investments end-to-end and oversaw the firm's due diligence on all investments. In 2019, they became the Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder, VP of Operations & Finance at Tava Health, where they are building the future of technology-enabled mental healthcare.
Jason Ockey obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brigham Young University between 2007 and 2013. Jason then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreurship and Innovation from The Wharton School between 2018 and 2020.
