Ragan Carpenter Anderson serves as the Director of Operations at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center since July 2019, following a role as Senior Manager at The Urban Institute from December 2017 to July 2019. Prior experience includes positions as Project Manager at Webster University Geneva, Assistant to the Director in Project Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Coordinator of Educational Projects and Grants at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Earlier roles include a variety of positions in production and research at Film Odyssey Inc. and the International Affairs Council, where Ragan developed a strong foundation in program coordination and project management. Ragan holds a Master of Letters in Cultural Identity Studies from the University of St Andrews and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from The American University of Paris.

The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center aims to provide independent analyses of current and longer-term tax issues and to communicate its analyses to the public and to policymakers in a timely and accessible manner. Our objective is to provide timely, and accessible information to help policymakers, journalists, academics, and taxpayers identify and evaluate current and emerging tax policy options. We believe that better information, rigorous analysis, and fresh ideas injected at key points in the policy debate can forestall bad policies and reinforce good ones.
