Francisco Pires has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Francisco started their career as an Installation Technician at Portugal Telecom in 2012. In 2014, they interned at BES Vida, SA e Bes, Companhia de Seguros, SA in the Direção de Sistemas de Informação department.
Following this, Francisco worked as a Software Engineer and Research Scholar at Green By Web, a sustainability-focused startup, from February 2017 to February 2018. During this time, they developed an Intelligent Irrigation System and created a ChatBot using Dialogflow.
In 2017, they also served as a Research Scholar at Universidade de Lisboa for a year.
From October 2018 to July 2019, Francisco worked as a Junior Software Developer at Runtime Revolution. Francisco then progressed to the position of Tech Lead / Software Developer from July 2019 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for designing and maintaining databases and API services for a fitness mobile app, managing user subscriptions for an e-commerce website, and conducting data analysis using Pandas and SQL.
Francisco'smost recent position is at tb.lx by Daimler Truck, where they started as a Backend Engineer in January 2021. Francisco has since been promoted to the role of Senior Backend Engineer and Data Engineer. Francisco'sresponsibilities include designing and implementing event-driven architectures, working with technologies such as Scala, Spring Boot, Kotlin, Python, Apache Kafka, GraphQL Federation, REST, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Azure infrastructure (using AKS).
From 2013 to 2018, Francisco Pires attended the University of Lisbon, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Information Technologies.
