TCA Health Inc.- NFP
TCA Health was established in 1970 as a privately-owned clinic, known then as The Clinic in Altgeld. The facility was developed to address the health needs of the public housing residents and provided a range of primary health care services, preventive health screenings, health education, and social services. In 1991, TCA Health began to receive federal funding and converted to a non-profit primary health care center. Receiving federal funding allowed the clinic to significantly increase its capacity to address the healthcare needs of Chicago’s underserved. Today, TCA Health is a medical home for thousands of residents on the far south-side of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Patients are given affordable access to culturally and linguistically appropriate health care of high quality. At the main location, clinical services include Internal/Family Medicine, Dental, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Behavioral Health, Optometry, Pharmacy, Lab and Ultrasound. TCA Health’s reach now extends beyond the Altgeld-Murray Homes Public Housing Development into other southside communities through its recently funded Mobile Van Health Clinic, and the Carver Military Academy School Based Health Center. In December 2015, TCA Health expanded to provide primary health care services to the Chatham community of Chicago through its new access point, TCA Health- Chatham. In addition to primary and preventative care services, TCA Health offers various support services that include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program, Health & Wellness Collaborative, and Health Insurance Enrollment. TCA Health, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We are a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). This institution is also an equal opportunity provider.
