Erik Huyghe has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Erik started their career as an intern at Cooper Power Tools in 2003. After that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Lawrence Technological University from 2004 to 2007. Erik then joined DENSO in 2007 and held various roles including Design Engineer, Project Engineer, and Product Specialist. At DENSO, they played a crucial role in obtaining off-cycle CO2 credits from the EPA for their employer's product, resulting in a competitive advantage. In 2014, Erik joined General Motors as a BOM Family Owner, overseeing various compressor-related products. Most recently, in 2019, they joined TCCI Manufacturing as the Director of Advanced Engineering for Compressor.

Erik Huyghe completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University between 2002 and 2006. Erik then pursued a certification in Advanced Propulsion for Hybrid Vehicles with a concentration in Battery Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 2009. In 2010, they attended the University of Michigan and completed their MSESE degree in Energy Systems Engineering in 2012. During their time at Lawrence Technological University, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Alternative Energy.
