Fraes Nigel Sutton

Nigel Sutton, FRAeS, has a diverse work experience in various industries. Nigel has held senior leadership roles in business development and international operations. Nigel has served as the Vice President of Business Development at TCOM, L.P. since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Artel LLC from 2022 to 2023. Nigel also has experience in the automotive industry, where they served as the Vice President of Business Development at General Motors Defense LLC from 2019 to 2021. In addition, they have contributed to the defense and aerospace sectors, holding roles such as Vice President International at Northrop Grumman from 2015 to 2019 and Vice President of Unmanned Air Systems International Business at AeroVironment from 2013 to 2015. Nigel Sutton is a recognized professional in the field, as evidenced by their fellowship at the Royal Aeronautical Society since 2018 and their membership in organizations such as the Defense Trade Advisory Group of the U.S. Department of State and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Nigel has also served on the Board of Directors for Orbital ATK Middle East LLC and Alliant Techsystems Operations Saudi Arabia Ltd. Nigel has extensive financial experience, having chaired the Financial Committee and overseen the financial management of the World Affairs Councils of America from 2013 to 2020.

Nigel Sutton, FRAeS, has an extensive education history. Nigel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Park University from 1983 to 1987. Nigel then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1994. During the same year, they also completed a Graduate program at the United States Naval Test Pilot School, focusing on Aeronautics, Aviation, and Aerospace Science and Technology.

In 1996, Sutton enrolled at the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering/Avionics, specializing in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering between 1996 and 1998. Continuing their educational pursuits, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2000.

Over the years, Sutton has also engaged in additional certifications. These include the attainment of various levels in the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) program, including Level 3 in Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Test and Evaluation. Nigel has also achieved the Defense Acquisition Professional designation for their expertise in Program Management, Flight Test Management, and Systems Engineering.

Finally, in recent years, between 2019 and 2020, Nigel Sutton attended Syracuse University, where they completed an Executive Masters degree in International Relations and Affairs at the Maxwell School. Additionally, they earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Public Administration from Syracuse University during the same time period.
