Haji Samiun Salleh

Haji Samiun started his career as Hulu Terengganu Assistant District Officer from 1986 to 1992. He then assumed the position of Assistant Director of Terengganu State Economic Planning Unit, Executive Director of Terengganu Skill Development Centre (TESDEC), and Assistant Secretary at Terengganu State Secretary Office before joining Kemaman Municipal Council as the Secretary in 2000.

After that, he served among others as the Chief Assistant District Officer of Setiu District Office in 2002, Secretary of Kemaman Municipal Council in 2004, Yang DiPertua of Hulu Terengganu District Office in 2005, Secretary of Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) in 2009, and Yang DiPertua of Setiu District Office in 2013. In 2016, he became the General Manager of Perbadanan Memajukan Iktisad Negeri Terengganu (PMINT) before being appointed as the Mayor of Kuala Terengganu City Council in 2016.

Haji Samiun also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of PMINT in 2017 and Director and Deputy State Secretary (Development) of Terengganu in 2019. Prior to being appointed as a Non-Independent and Non-Executive Director of TDM Berhad effective 30 June 2021, he was the State Financial Officer of Terengganu from March 2021 to June 2021.
