Peter Skalkos

Peter Skalkos has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Peter started their career as the Orientation Director at RMIT University from August 2005 to March 2006. Peter then worked as a Marketing Lecturer at the Melbourne Institute of Finance and Management from August 2006 to December 2007. Peter later joined H&O Products as an Assistant Product Manager from March 2008 to October 2009.

Following this, they served as the Brand Manager at OLDFIELDS HOLDINGS LIMITED, an Australian ASX listed manufacturer and importer, from October 2009 to November 2012. Peter then founded and worked as a Digital Marketing Consultant at Whitehorse Sync, a digital marketing agency specializing in launching campaigns for international companies expanding into Australia, from January 2013 to July 2014.

Peter then joined DIY Resolutions / ABC, a market leader in the Australian hardware industry, as a Product Manager from July 2014 to May 2018. Peter took a break to be a Stay-at-Home Parent from June 2018 to December 2018 in the Letelier Skalkos Family.

From January 2019 to January 2021, they worked at Pearson as a Technical Product Manager and later as a Product Manager. At Pearson, a global learning company, Peter successfully launched a digital authoring tool and implemented technical improvements and localized features, resulting in enhanced user experience, reduced cost, and increased speed to market. Peter received an APAC high achiever's innovation award during their time at Pearson.

Peter then joined Go1 as a Product Manager in November 2021, where they developed personalized search and recommendation experiences, improved the play experience with UI updates, and created platform-agnostic embeddable components. Peter also worked on integration strategy and roadmap for partner acquisition. Peter won the Gamify Hackathon at Go1, pitching an expert marketplace. Peter left Go1 in March 2023.

Currently, Peter is working as a Product Manager - Growth at Teach Starter since April 2023. Overall, their experience demonstrates a strong background in product management, digital marketing, and strategic planning across multiple industries.

Peter Skalkos completed their Bachelor of Business Management degree from RMIT University, where they attended from 2002 to 2005. Peter has also obtained additional certifications, such as Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC) from Scrum Alliance in January 2021 and Certified Product Manager (CPM) from General Assembly in December 2017.
