Chris Miltenberg

Chris Miltenberg became the Director of Track and Field and Cross Country at University of North Carolina in June 2019 after serving as Stanford’s Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field and men’s cross country coach for seven years. Miltenberg is a two-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year and his Stanford’s cross country teams have combined for two Pac-12 championships, four region titles, six NCAA podium finishes and 14 NCAA team appearances. Miltenberg has coached 59 Stanford All-Americans, and under his leadership, the Stanford women received the Terry Crawford Program of the Year Award in June 2018. In fact, no other school reached the top three Program of the Year rankings in both men’s and women’s categories that year. Before arriving at Stanford, Miltenberg coached at Georgetown University and Columbia University.
