Dr. George Chiampas is an Assistant Professor at the Feinberg school of medicine in the departments of Emergency medicine and Orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University. He is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and is trained to lead in emergency preparedness. He serves as Chief Medical Officer of U.S. Soccer and has led in federations and sports heading restrictions for concussion safety. Dr. Chiampas launched and leads the soccer player and coach safety platform www.recognizetorecover.org for youth across the country. He serves on FIFA’s medical committee advancing the sports awareness and rule changes for player welfare. He served as a team physician at Northwestern University from 2008-2013. Dr. Chiampas is a team physician with the Chicago Blackhawks and as a visiting team medical liaison (VTML) for the NFL. He is the Chief Medical Officer for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
